Getting Wild with Heather - 5 ways to interpret Wild Heather
A beautiful "pictagram" this week of Wild Heather, showing 5 interpretations of the same colour and how coloured waxes can completely change the end result.
The second image shows a little "picatgram" where the back board has been painted in Wild Heather and finished a simple clear wax, leaving the colour as it is a beautiful earthy dusky purple.
Each wooden swatch on the board has also been painted in Wild Heather. Each with a different coloured coloured wax applied over the top to show the effects of pairing Wild Heather with different coloured waxes. Whether you want to create a rustic beachy look with a Christabelle wax or provide a soft blue hue over the colour with Chiswick House wax or deepen with a Royal purple maybe sweeten it with an Orchid wax, the coloured wax you decide on will make a big difference. If you love Wild Heather as it is then opt for a simple clear wax.
The piece of furniture pictured was completed by the team here at The Artisan Company which shows you can get as creative as you like with Wild Heather. The box has been painted in Wild Heather with layers of multiple coloured waxes, 4 different coloured waxes to be exact and then trimmed and detailed with Vintro metallics .
Coloured waxed finishes are unique to Vintro, allowing you to layer multiple coloured waxes and have it all set and wear beautifully.
When deciding on a coloured wax look at your interior space, where that piece of furniture is going into and the colours around it. Coloured waxed finishes can uniquely allow you to branch out into a colour out of the norm to create your bespoke feature piece. With coloured waxes over it, you can transform the finish to tone in perfectly with the wall, surrounding decor, soften the finish, connect it with existing artwork or deepen the finish to contrast.
The more coloured waxes you use, the more variation & depth you will create and the more versatility you will have in dressing around the piece with soft furnishings and decor. Coloured waxes gives you the freedom to create a stunning feature piece with a stunning depth and a bespoke variation of colours and with that freedom you can work with colours drawn upon within your space and create a feature piece that works in cohesively with your space, like it was meant to be there, designed for the space.
Wild Heather is available in the full range of Vintro Paints, from Chalk Paint for decorative finishes, to No Seal Chalk Paint for a smooth modern indoor/outdoor finish or Supreme Matt Emulsion, a rich multi-pigmented wall paint for a rich saturated depth of colour that responds beautifully to lighting adding a luxurious look and feel across your walls and bringing them to life with multi-pigmented colour.

A little bit about Wild Heather, we describe it as an earthy dusky purple, it's earthy-ness allows it to pair well with warm and earthy wood tones, it modernises with Blacks, sits well with pinks & clashes beautifully with yellows. Although purple, it's earthy dusky nature makes it a soft purple for an interior space, easy on the eye, quite neutral (for a purple) and restful.
"This purple was picked for its understated elegance. As in its name, it was inspired by wild heather growing across the beautiful moorlands of North Yorkshire".
