Velvet Luxe is a Hybrid Chalk Paint great for those one colour flat finishes, dries into beautiful velvety matte finish with no lacquer or wax required and it's also suitable for the outdoors. There's a lot going for Velvet Luxe, sometimes all you want is a quick colour change so it's great to be able show this project from The Artisan at Home NZ.
An old solid table for a covered outdoor area, painted in Artisan Bruised Petal Velvet Luxe, two coats using a staalmeester 1 1/2 inch flat brush together with a 3inch flat brush for the table top. A no fuss self levelling paint that dries beautiful flat and matte. Two coats and it was done.
Velvet Luxe still holds all the rich multi-pigmented qualities of Premium Chalk Paints, each crafted colour holds depth and reacts beautifully to light and shadow. Bruised Petal is a beautiful earthy pink and reacts beautifully to lighting and different environments, a beautiful addition to a green outlook, complimenting all the greenery and foliage around. Note: Velvet Luxe is designed to be used on Outdoor Furniture, wood or metal that is made or treated for the outdoors. Painting indoor furniture in Velvet Luxe will not make it "outdoor proof" This table was originally an old indoor dining table now painted in Velvet Luxe for a fully covered outdoor deck area which gets very little weather, because the wood is not treated for the outdoors, there is a risk of the wood warping and distorting over time if the weather gets to it. Please bear this in mind if you are painting indoor furniture to sit outdoors.
