We love showcasing what most people think is impossible like painting over glass doors and turning them into a metallic look. Taking something that was dated and making them unrecognisable. When we started the Artisan Company Journey we wanted to innovate products and come up with a system that made creating any finish possible. With no preparation and painting straight over the glass doors with no sanding or priming, it means you can head straight into the fun and being creative and a finish like this which would once take weeks to achieve is made simple with Artisan Paints and Products and can be done in a day.

What we did:

Painted over the glass doors first with Premium Chalk Paint in Carbon Black (no sanding no priming) creating texture with our series 2020 brush. A staalmeester brush is important when painting glass as the Soft Bristles will work in you favour.

Once dry, The following metallic glazes were placed sporadically to detail and create an aged Metallic effect on the door. Layering them over each other here and there :

- Marko Bronze
- Tyler Gold
-Jayda Rose
-Milan Moonshadow

Once the glazes were applied we pulled the whole look together and aged it with a strong Carbon Black coloured wax followed by subtle highlights on the edges and high points with Artisan Metallic Glide in forgotten gold. The Glazes when layered in this way creates an extremely strong and durable surface suitable for doors

Although this finish was completed on doors it can be done on pretty much any surface whether it be the front of drawers for an industrial dresser, a vase, chair... the system allows you to create a stunning rustic Artisan Metallic Finish on pretty much any surface you choose!
