This time a little revival project for us. Reviving a table for our instore design room. After a specific table for our design room we decided to revive one to suite. Taking the base of a table we had instorage we decided to re-invent it with a new table top for our Design room. The base was finished in a dark Charcoal chalk paint and wax, to repaint we painted straight over without sanding or priming (chalk paint adheres to wax) , We re-fitted a new table top being a door bought from the Hardware store and completed a hand painted wood effect paint finish on it. Re-imagine and revive your pieces to suit and in turn create something bespoke for your home.
What we did:
Legs: Hand painted in Crystal Chalk Paint and aged with Stonebreaker coloured wax and steel wooled to pull back the coloured wax
Table Top : Hand painted in Stonebreaker using a Staalmeester 3 inch flat brush, brushing in one direction creating texture allowing the paint to half dry and pulling the paint in one direction to create a wood like like texture. Detailed in dark wax and then Stonebreaker wax, Steel wool then a firm buff to create a hardened waxed table top surface.
