Working with our client on a full creative concept for her home. Including this dining area project; working with the existing dining table, we hand painted the table using Old White, as an aged white base then pure white to tie in with the newly renovated crisp white kitchen, with a french linen wash to ensure the table wasn't going to be a flat white and would create the character that our client was after. We followed this with a pure white textured dry brush with 2 coats of clear and 1 coat of dark wax enhancing the textured paint finish, giving authenticity and depth in the white as well as making it extremely durable for dining use. The revival has completely lightened the dining area with natural light reflecting off its surface and brightening the room and making the table appear larger. This space now sits as a bright relaxed welcoming space. To finish the concept we sourced black metal cross back chairs to tie in with our clients beautiful black feature stove and neighbouring black fireplace. Most importantly it created the look and style that our client was after as well as function better with a better height and size in proportion to the table. A small colour change to the dining table area can create huge impact in the way the space feels, looks and functions.
