Dark sideboard which was used in our clients dining area was commissioned for a Taylored Revival. We worked with our clients on deciding the right colour. It was important to our client to have the sideboard tone in with their wall paper which was designed for them many years ago. The colour Versailles was suggested and chosen. Versailles is a soft delicate lightly yellowed dusky green that is sophisticated and gentle yet it works well with modern pieces too. This is a colour which picks up other colours well and changes character accordingly. It was a perfect fit for our clients traditional green toned wall paper. The sideboard has been hand painted in Versailles then lightly distressed and detailed using a blended wax, creating a subtle aged look and adding richness and depth to the colour. The gorgeous handles were colour washed in Versailles, and once delivered the piece toned in beautifully with the colours and decor of the room, looking as if it had always been there.
