Our client wanted her solidly built Queen Anne mahogany bedroom suite revived to better suit her contemporary home. An onsite consultation was undertaken to ensure the colour selection would enhance the room and decor and compliment the overall theme. A french linen colour was settled upon as it complimented the drapes and walls of the room and the classic french provincial finish was also agreed. With it being a large "suite" of furniture, we agreed that one colour would be too much for the look we were wanting to achieve. Thus we decided to break this up by custom blending the french linen 3-4 shades lighter for the face of the drawers to add contrast and to avoid it looking to "blocky". Their was also some repair work to be done prior to painting.

The frames of the bedroom suite drawers were hand painted lightly distressed and detailed, we tied the two tones in with wax work pulling everything together and accentuating the carved details and bevelled edges. The inners were detailed in old white adding subtle contrast in keeping with the look. The colours lightened the suite completely and the french provincial finish proved to really accentuate the original craftsmanship that had been put into this suite. Even though the bedside tables were originally purchased separately and varied slightly  in colour and style to the others, after the paint finish all the pieces looked like it belonged in the same collection. A gorgeous revival that is going to completely transform our clients room and  another revival that we are very proud.
