Every chair has potential to be an Artisan Paint Project, a chance to revive it in a way that's perfect for your home...small chair, big impact, and a great before and after.
Chairs make great decor pieces, great candidates for Artisan paints and products; a chance to revive and completely redesign regardless of its condition. An old chair revived as a feature character piece in an aged pink. Elegant and timeless with gorgeous character enhancing all of it's imperfections through this hand painted finish.
What we did :
Painting:
Hand painted with Subtle texture in Alexis Premium Chalk Paint using a Staalmeester angled brush, pointed tip (2022 style) size 12 and round brush (2020 style) size 18. It's important to use brushes in proportion to chair to avoid unwanted build up; . Once painted, a light sand with 240 grit sand paper to remove any unwanted texture.
Waxing in order done:
Lashings of cooled dark wax (refrigerated for 10 mins before to make the dark wax firm to create strong age and patina)
Fine Steel wool to highlight and soften
Clubhouse grey coloured wax just in areas to shadow
Grassmere Coloured Wax over areas where we wanted to soften the age and or highlight
Duck Egg coloured coloured wax and colour smudges just in areas here and there
Final light steel wool to blend coloured waxes and soften further
SIlver glide on the edges
